Biography
A Nashville, Tennessee, USA based quintet of Marty McCall (vocals), Gary Pigg (vocals), Cindy Lipford (vocals), Lanny Avery (bass) and Chris Harris (drums), the members of Fireworks were all heavily immersed in contemporary Christian music before forming the band. McCall and Pigg had been involved in the career of Chris Christian as producers, and featured as backing singers on David Meeces I Just Call On You and B.J. Thomas Home Where I Belong. They also worked on commercial jingles together. Avery had formerly worked as a studio engineer while Chris Harris had previously belonged to the Texas group, Brazos. The idea for Fireworks came when Pigg and McCall discovered their mutual interest in spiritual music when they met at a Nashville church.
