Biography
Essentially a solo project named after the successful Japanese video game series, Final Fantasy is the creation of self-taught violinist Owen Pallett (Ontario, Canada), and various guest performers. He studied contemporary opera composition at the University of Toronto, but shunned a career in classical music in favour of involvement in the Canadian indie music scene. He has worked extensively as a violinist, arranging, touring and recording with acts including the Hidden Cameras, the Vinyl Café, Jimmy Guthrie and most famously with the Arcade Fire. Pallett is also a member of Picastro and Les Mouches, the latter of which he left when Final Fantasy took on the role of the Arcade Fires opening act. Final Fantasys debut album, Has A Good Home, was produced and engineered by guest drummer Leon Taheny and released in July 2005.
