Biography
This Houston, Texas, USA-based pop punk band was originally known as Riverfenix when it was formed in 1995. Several personnel changes occurred over the next two years before the band settled on a steady line-up comprising Willie Salazar (guitar/vocals), Damon Delapaz (guitar/vocals), Adam Lewis (bass) and Donnie Reyes (drums). After relocating to San Diego and appearing on 1997’s nationwide Mullets Across America tour, Riverfenix released their self-titled debut album on the Drive Thru Records label. The quartet earned more notoriety and radio play for their tribute album cover version of Duran Duran’s ‘Ordinary World’. A major label recording contract with MCA Records was not long in following, although they were forced to change their name to Fenix TX for legal reasons.
