Biography
29 November 1942, Pelham, New York, USA. Formerly keyboard player/vocalist with the (Young) Rascals, Cavaliere was one of rocks definitive blue-eyed soul performers. By the early 70s the Rascals were embracing a cool jazz rock sound, and this crafted, smooth approach also marked the singers solo releases of the era. His 1974 debut album, Felix Cavaliere, was a promising affair, but the following years Destiny, was even more accomplished, and featured contributions from former Rascals Dino Danelli and Buzz Feiten, and singer Laura Nyro. Following a collaboration with the group Treasure, a third solo collection followed in 1979, from which Only A Lonely Heart Sees was a US hit single at the start of the new decade. However, Cavaliere has since been unable to fulfil his undoubted potential and in 1988 he, Danelli and Gene Cornish were reunited for a national Rascals tour.
