Biography
Formed in the Romanian village of Zece Prajini by 12 Romany Gypsy musicians, this brass ensemble echoes the past through music that has been played for many generations. Among members of the band have been Rdulescu Lazar (trumpet), Costica Cimai Trifan (trumpet), Nicusor Pusac Cantea (trumpet), Paul Marian Bulgaru (trumpet), Ioan Ivancea (d. October 2006; clarinet), Oprica Ivancea (soprano/alto clarinet), Daniel Ivancea (alto clarinet), Constantin Sulo Calin (tenor horn), Laurentiu Mihai Ivancea (baritone horn), Constantin Pînca Cântea (tuba), Monel Gutzel Trifan (tuba), percussionist Costel Gisniac Ursu (percussion), and Nicolae Ionita (percussion).
