Biography
This melodic US pop rock duo comprises identical twins Evan and Jaron Lowenstein (18 March 1974, Atlanta, Georgia, USA). They took up performing together as teenagers, initially under the name Durable Phig Leaf, and continued to sing together through college. The brothers established a residency at KaLo’s Coffee House in Atlanta, and in 1994 recorded and independently released a live album taped at the venue. They subsequently formed the Evan And Jaron Band and recorded the seven-track EP Not From Concentrate, released on their A Major Label imprint in March 1996. A real major label recording contract with Island Records was brokered by performer Jimmy Buffett, and their debut for the label, We’ve Never Heard Of You Either, was produced by another veteran of the American music scene, Danny Kortchmar.
