Biography
This Chicago, Illinois, USA-based outfit is the creation of singer-songwriter Guy Blakeslee (USA). By the time he formed Entrance in 2001 Blakeslee was barely out of his teens but was already a veteran of the east coast alternative scene. He made his name as the bass player with Tonie Joys Baltimore-based indie rock outfit the Convocation Of
, but a passion for early American folk music and blues led to his decision to go it alone. He first began using the Entrance moniker during a series of low-key gigs around his home-town. His debut, The Kingdom Of Heaven Must Be Taken By Storm, featured a memorable cover version of Skip James pre-war blues Im So Glad, alongside a number of folk and blues-influenced originals.
