Biography
Along with Ancient Rites, Enthroned are the only black metal band of any significance to emerge from Belgium, and have been heard to complain about the prejudice they experience from the notoriously difficult-to-please fans and industry, simply because they are not Norwegian or Swedish. Be that as it may, they pack a fearsome punch and stick unswervingly to the grimmest of Satanic themes as well as the genres usual fascination with warfare and mass extermination. The band was formed in 1993 by Lord Sabathan (21 August 1970, Charleroi, Belgium; vocals/bass, ex-Morbid Death) and sometime Blaspherion drummer Cernunnos, recruiting guitarist Tseboath of the death metal band Slanesh. A split EP with Ancient Rites on the Belgian Afterdark label led to Prophecies Of Pagan Fire for Evil Omen (a subdivision of French label Osmose).
