Biography
US melodic hardcore band formed in 2001 by Toby Morrell (vocals/guitar), Matt Carter (guitar/vocals) and Joel Green (bass). The members first met while studying in South Carolina and after completing their education opted to make music a full-time career. After forming Emery they relocated to Seattle and quickly established a foothold on the citys live circuit with a line-up now incorporating Devin Shelton (guitar/vocals), Josh Head (keyboards) and Seth Studley (drums). Their highly commercial fusion of emocore and melodic alt pop attracted the attention of the Seattle independent Tooth & Nail label, which teamed the band up with producer Ed Rose to work on their debut album.
