New York, USA. This Irish-American fiddler has been playing since she was eight, and by the 90s, her mastery of it had begun to create interest throughout the roots and folk community. Playing rock, blues, jazz, classical and bluegrass, Ivers featured chiefly in two all-female groups, Cherish The Ladies and Chanting House. She has also been a guest on live performances and sessions by Luka Bloom, Sharon Shannon and Hothouse Flowers. Her solo work has largely been played with the African drummer Kimati Dinizulu and the guitarist John Doyle. Her 1994 debut additionally featured Cape Breton musicians Dave MacIsaac (guitar) and Natalie McMaster (fiddle), plus New York flautist Joanie Madden and several other renowned guests.
