Biography
Although favouring a brand of death metal that is unrelenting in its brutality and at times bordering on the unlistenable, the Maryland, USA-based Dying Fetus has remained true to its beliefs over a lengthy career. Formed in 1991 in the Upper Marlboro district of Washington, DC, the bands original line-up comprised John Gallagher (guitar/vocals), Jason Netherton (bass/vocals) and Nick Speleos (guitar/vocals). Gallagher doubled up on drums for the recording of the bands demo tape, Bathe In Entrails, following which drummer Rob Belton was recruited. New guitarist Brian Latta was also brought in to replace the departing Speleos, and the new-look quartet completed the Infatuation With Malevolence demo. The two demos were re-released in 1995 on a CD of the same name issued by the Wild Rags label.
