6 June 1951, Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. A crafted performer, renowned for high quality pop, Dwight Twilley scored an impressive US Top 20 hit with his debut release, Im On Fire. This 1975 single combined elements of rock n roll, the Beatles and Lou Christie, yet its compulsive charm remained contemporary. An attendant album by the Dwight Twilley Band, recorded with long-time associate Phil Seymour (b. 15 May 1952, Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, d. 17 August 1993, Los Angeles, California, USA), took a year to complete. This delay, incurred when initial recordings proved unsatisfactory, undermined the duos momentum and, despite critical acclaim, the collection failed to emulate its opening track. Twilleys subsequent releases were equally meritorious, but the singers love of pop tradition was proving out of step.
