This psychedelically inclined Swedish rock band (pronounced doon-yen) has been led from the outset by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Gutav Ejstes. Based in Stockholm since inaugurating Dungen in 1999, Ejstes is regularly joined on stage and on record by the accomplished musicians Reine Fiske (guitar), Mattias Gustavsson (bass) and Fredrik Björling (drums).

Ejstes was raised in the small village of Lanna in Vastergotland, and his first love was hip-hop and dance music. His tastes changed when he began to investigate the music he was sampling and he was soon listening avidly to Swedish folk, vintage American psychedelic rock and jazz fusion. By his early twenties Ejstes had learned how to play guitar, bass and drums, having played piano since his childhood, and formed Dungen to pursue his musical vision.
