Biography
9 September 1941, Fulham, London, England. Power was one of several British vocalists, including Marty Wilde, Billy Fury and Dickie Pride, signed to the Larry Parnes stable. Having completed a series of unsuccessful pop singles for Fontana Records, including Dream Lover and Kissin Time, the singer parted company with both Parnes and Fontana and embraced R&B in 1963 with a pulsating version of the Beatles I Saw Her Standing There on which he was backed by the Graham Bond Quartet. Powers other singles for Parlophone Records included Tired, Broke and Busted, which featured support from the Paramounts, but he later supplemented his solo career by joining Alexis Korners Blues Incorporated.
