Biography

17 February 1949, Dallas, Texas, USA. Blues singer-songwriter and drummer Bramhall is primarily known for his long association with the guitar-playing brothers, Jimmie Vaughan and Stevie Ray Vaughan, the latter of whom recorded several Bramhall compositions on his hit solo albums. Born in Dallas, Texas, Bramhall built a solid friendship with Jimmie Vaughan while both were in high school, and played together in a local band Texas Storm. It was not long before Bramhall took notice of the talents that Jimmie’s younger brother, Stevie Ray, possessed, and the two men formed the Nightcrawlers.

Although Bramhall played drums on several recordings by blues pianist/vocalist Marcia Ball, Bramhall remained largely unknown outside of the Dallas area for a long time.
