10 December 1972, Downey, California, USA. This American singer-songwriter is a close personal friend of fellow surfing musician Jack Johnson, and the patronage of the by-then world famous Johnson undoubtedly helped Frankenreiter promote his own music career in the early 00s.
Frankenreiter grew up in California and began surfing professionally as a teenager. Due to a sponsorship deal he was able to travel all around the world, and it was during this stage of his career that he first met Johnson. The two men initially bonded over surfing but soon developed a keen musical bond. During the 90s Frankenreiter continued competing as a professional surfer, while earning his musical dues playing rhythm guitar with jam band Peanut Butter And Jam.
