Biography

US alternative rock band Dishwalla made something of a startling entry into the recording industry when they appeared alongside much more celebrated acts on the Carpenters’ 1994 tribute album If I Were A Carpenter, before they had even released a single. Their contribution, a version of ‘It’s Going To Take Some Time’, alerted several record labels to their presence, but unbeknownst to them Dishwalla were already signed to A&M Records. Originally comprising George Pendergast (Santa Barbara, California, USA; drums), Scot Alexander (b. 10 December 1971, Santa Barbara, California, USA; bass), J.R. Richards (b. 30 April 1972, Santa Barbara, California, USA; vocals/guitar) and Rodney Browning (b.
