Biography
Originally formed in Los Angeles, California, USA, during 1992, this hip-hop crew comprises DJ Babu and MCs Evidence and Rakaa aka Iriscience. The two MCs first met through freestyle sessions at the Hip Hop Shop. They eventually united with turntablist DJ Babu, a former member of the remix/dance act the Beat Junkies, appearing on their 1997 debut, World Famous Beat Junkies: Vol. 1. Signing on with the record label ABB, Dilated Peoples issued several singles and EPs during the late 90s, including Third Degree (which included rapping by Defari), Work The Angles, and Rework The Angles
(which featured spots by artists such as A.G., Defari and Xzibit). The buzz surrounding Dilated Peoples grew too loud for the major labels to ignore any longer, as the trio signed with Capitol Records.
