This Seattle, Washington-based US Christian metalcore band was formed in 2000 by brothers Ryan Clark (23 June 1979, USA; vocals) and Don Clark (guitar), with Jesse Sprinkle (drums) completing the original pared down line-up. The band’s self-titled debut album for the Tooth & Nail subsidiary Solid State Records offered up a brutal fusion of alternative metal and hardcore, with the aural assault punctuated by moments of relative calmness and the overlying faith-based subject matter of the lyrics. The ensuing tour in support of the album saw the addition of Jon Dunn (bass, ex-Embodyment) and Kris McCaddon (guitar) to the line-up. The 2004 follow-up, Summer Of Darkness, reprised the format of the debut, albeit with a cleaner production and a more consistent batch of songs, and a host of guest vocalists from the metal scene.
