Biography

Michigan, USA. Haddon’s work with the Voices Of Unity choir established him as one of the most adventurous and forward-thinking US gospel artists to emerge in the 90s. He was born into the church, becoming heavily involved with his father’s Unity Cathedral Of Faith in Detroit, Michigan as youth pastor and music director. He began his recording career with 1995’s Come Into This House, released on the Tyscot label. Subsequent albums, on Tyscot and the Verity label, have developed the debut’s bold eclecticism, marrying funk, R&B and hip-hop rhythms with fiery gospel vocals from both Haddon and the 13-strong Voices Of Unity. Crossroads (2004) and 7 Days (2006) paid explicit homage to contemporary R&B, and crossed over into the mainstream US charts.
