Biography
A prolific US remixing, recording and producing outfit, Washington, DC-based Deep Dish comprises Iranian-born Ali Dubfire Shirazinia (1971 Iran), and Sharam Tayebi (b. 1971, Iran). They met in 1991, DJing at the same party. In 1992, they formed Deep Dish Records and set out to expand the boundaries of deep house. They quickly established a distinctive sound, using collaborators such as BT (Brian Transeau) and John Selway. They have continued to DJ all over the world and have remained committed to their purist notions of what good house music should be. They began a subsidiary of Deep Dish Records, Yoshitoshi, in 1994, which has released several respected singles by Hani, Satori, and Alcatraz. They were signed to the major UK dance music label, Deconstruction Records, in December 1995.
