Biography
1950, Maine, New England, USA. One of country singer Dave Malletts most poignant songs is My Old Man, in remembrance of his father. By the age of 10, Mallett was performing as a country duo with his brother Neil. Following several years as a performer in clubs and coffee-houses, Mallett befriended Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul And Mary and they co-produced his debut, which included Garden Song, also recorded by Stookey himself, John Denver, Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie. His first albums were issued under the name of David Mallett but he has worked as Dave Mallett since Vital Signs. He has written several songs with Hal Ketchum, notably Old Soldiers and Daddys Oldsmobile. Ketchum was featured along with Nanci Griffith, Michael Johnson and Kathy Mattea on this town.
