Biography
15 January 1950, Bexar, Arkansas, USA. David Lynn Jones forefathers lived on the same acres for generations. His father was the village postmaster and his mother a preacher. His neighbours have also formed the nucleus of his band. His most successful record, Bonnie Jean, is about his sister (Shes got a heart of gold and nerves of steel/Little sister rolls them eighteen wheels). His first album, produced by Waylon Jennings producer Richie Albright, showed the influences of Bruce Springsteen alongside country music. Waylon sang with Jones on his US country hit, High Ridin Heroes. Jones left Mercury Records, and moved to Liberty Records, after he claimed there had been too much interference with the recording of his second album. His best-known song is Living In The Promiseland, a US country hit for Willie Nelson.
