Biography
Out of the break up of Boston space rockers Galaxie 500 came the duo Damon And Naomi. Naomi Yang (15 September 1964, USA; bass/vocals) and Damon Krukowski (b. 6 September 1963, USA; drums, guitar, vocals) united as a duo a few months after Galaxie 500s split in spring 1991. Under the alias of Pierre Etoile, the duo issued a three-track self-titled EP the same year, before changing the name of their band to Damon And Naomi, and issuing their debut, More Sad Hits, in 1992. Krukowski and Yangs focus then shifted from music to running a publishing company, Exact Change, specializing in reprints and translations of classic avant garde literature (with the titles being re-designed by Naomi, and re-edited by Damon). Eventually, the duos desire to play music returned, resulting in a recording contract with Sub Pop Records, and additional releases such as 1995s The Wondrous World Of Damon & Naomi, 1998s Playback...
