Biography
Formed in 1994 in Yukon, Oklahoma, USA, by Grady Cross (guitar), Cody Canada (vocals/guitar), Randy Ragsdale (drums) and Matt Wiedemann (bass), the quartet landed upon their unusual moniker by combining elements of the four band members names. They kept the title even when Jeremy Plato replaced original bass player Wiedemann. Based in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Cross Canadian Ragweed established a reputation as an indefatigable live band, tearing up venues throughout America with their hard rocking blend of southern rock, country and roots music. Indeed, they spent so much time on the road that their debut studio album was not released until 1998. Carney and the studio follow-up Highway 377 (2001) were released on the quartets own Underground Sounds label.
