Biography
This Atlanta, Georgia-based rap group was formed in 2003 by M.I.G. (J. Usher, 1987, Atlanta, Georgia, USA), Cyco Black (b. Alphonce Smith, 1986, Sandy Springs, Georgia, USA), Diamond (b. Brittany Nicole Carpenter, 20 May 1988, Atlanta, Georgia, USA), Killa C (b. Christopher Henderson, 1986, Decatur, Georgia, USA), Lil Jay (b. Jonathan Lewis, 1985, Atlanta, Georgia, USA) and Princess (b. Venetia Lewis, 19 February 1987, Atlanta, Georgia, USA). The sextets party-styled crunk rap was heard to good effect on the single Knuck If You Buck, which enjoyed heavy rotation on urban radio in summer 2004 and crossed over to the mainstream charts. The groups self-titled debut album was reminiscent of pioneering southern rap crew Three 6 Mafia and, bar the presence of two strong female rappers, was disappointingly prosaic.
