The classic line-up of this atmospheric rock band arose from the ashes of the Birthday Party, but eventually became a repository for a number of musicians and artists working under that verbose banner. Rowland S. Howard (vocals/guitar), together with brother Harry Howard (bass), brought fellow Birthday Party journeyman Mick Harvey (Michael John Harvey, 29 September 1958, Rochester, Victoria, Australia; drums) to the fold in 1984 to join mainstay Simon Bonney (b. Tasmania, Australasia; vocals/guitar). Bonney formed Crime And The City Solution in the late 70s and had known the other members from their days together in Melbourne, Australia. His co-lyricist was violin player and spouse, Bronwyn Adams. Following the release of 1985s The Dangling Man EP drummer Epic Soundtracks (b.
