Biography
Formed in Los Angeles, California, in the early 80s, Cock Robin were one of several contemporary US bands who failed to break into the mainstream with their melodic and finely crafted songs. Fronted by songwriter Peter Kingsbery and co-vocalist Anna LaCazio, Clive Wright and Louis Malino III completed the line-up for their self-titled debut on CBS Records, produced by Steve Hillage. The Promise You Made became their only UK hit, reaching number 28, while When Your Heart Is Weak could only reach number 35 in the US charts. Malino and Wright then left the band, although Wright continued to be credited as a session musician on subsequent releases. Carrying on, Kingsbery and LaCazio completed After Here, Through Midland, featuring Don Gehmans (John Mellencamp) production work. Just Around The Corner was a minor hit in Europe where the band had begun to build a steady fanbase. Their final album was 1989s First Love/Last...
