Formed in 1995 by two former members of the short-lived indie band Poprace, vocalist Karolina Komstedt and multi-instrumentalist Johan Angergård (22 March 1974, Ängelholm, Scania, Sweden, also Acid House Kings), this Swedish band released two albums in the late 90s that maintained the rather dated twee pop approach of Poprace. They moved away from this sound with their third, self-titled album, released in 2001. The dance pop textures of Club 8 attracted a sizeable college audience in the USA, with the result that the duo was able to set up their own Summersound Studios complex. The subsequent 2002's Spring Came, Rain Fell and the following year's Strangely Beautiful were wonderfully eclectic albums, mixing indie, chill-out and bossa nova textures with delightful pop melodies.
