Biography
Formed in 2004 by former Saosin vocalist Anthony Green (15 April 1982, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA), this US experimental indie rock band also features ex-This Day Forward members Colin Frangicetto (b. 3 July 1980, USA; guitar) and Brendan Ekstrom (guitar), Nick Beard (bass, ex-Taken), and Steve Clifford (drums). After signing a contract with the Equal Vision Records label, the quintet debuted at the start of 2005 with the limited edition EP The Inuit Sessions. The same years album, Juturna, was named after a Roman goddess and inspired by Michel Gondrys Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004). Lacking the innate structure of the movie, the album floated by in a rather unfocused manner, with melody sacrificed to the bands off-kilter neo-progressive tendencies and Greens vocals and stream-of-consciousness lyrics an acquired taste.
