As her confidence grows as a performer in her own right, so her voice has continued to improve and gain strength. Her live performance of Rickie Lee Jones’ ‘Last Chance To Texaco’, in particular, shows off her vocal range, although she has yet to find a regular songwriter of the calibre of Gregson. The Dark Gift Of Time features bold interpretations of Billie Holiday (‘God Bless The Child’), Nick Drake (‘Black Eyed Dog’) and Tom Waits (‘Dirt In The Ground’).
