Biography
12 September 1955, Rome, New York, USA. Country singer Christine Albert has a mixed Swiss and French family background. For a while, she worked in her brother Ricks soul band, Honky De Luxe, but at the age of 19 she formed her own band, Ozone Express. She subsequently became a backing vocalist with Elias Turquoise Trail Band. In 1982 she moved to Austin, marrying a local musician, Ernie Sky Gammage, and developed a solo act. In 1988 she signed an eight-album contract with Columbia Records, but by 1990, the label had lost interest and agreed to release her. She produced You Are Gold, which included her version of Shes In Love With The Boy. Unfortunately for Albert, Trisha Yearwood picked up on the song and made it a US country hit. TexaFrance included her versions of La Vie En Rose and Hymne A LAmour. She sang the title track on Pastures Of Plenty, a tribute album to Woody Guthrie, and also...
