19 April 1974, Boulder, Colorado, USA. Singer-songwriter Stills certainly has a good musical pedigree as the son of Stephen Stills and singer Veronique Sanson. He was understandably exposed to a wide range of music and instruments from a very young age, and he always showed a keen interest. However, he did not discover his instrument of choice until his early teens while touring with his father. A sound technician introduced him to the basics of guitar playing. Following his parents’ separation in the late 70s, Stills spent the majority of his younger years living in Paris, France with his mother. On finishing high school he returned to the USA, and spent several years in New York City where he played in a band alongside Adam Cohen, son of Leonard Cohen. Having begun to seriously pursue the possibility of a career in music, he signed to Atlantic Records in 1997 and released his debut solo, 100 Year Thing, in January the following year.
