Biography
Charles Alexander Landsborough, 26 October 1941, Wrexham, Clywd, Wales. The youngest of 11 children, Landsboroughs family came from Birkenhead and he has spent his life on Merseyside. After several jobs, he trained as a teacher, but music has been the mainstay of his life. He was part of a local beat group, the Top Spots, but developed his own style by writing gentle, melodic, romantic ballads, albeit influenced by the American singer-songwriter Mickey Newbury. Because of his teaching commitments and transport problems with unreliable cars, Landsborough remained little known outside Merseyside for the first years of his recording career. His main strength is as a songwriter. Foster And Allen entered the UK charts with the astute reflections of I Will Love You All My Life, and Roly Daniels put Part Of Me into the Irish charts.
