This excellent UK doom/grind band was formed by vocalist Lee Dorrian after his departure from Napalm Death, with his bass player friend Mark Griffiths, former Acid Reign guitarists Garry Jennings and Adam Lehan, and drummer Ben Mockrie. This line-up was in place for the release of 1990’s four-track demo, In Memorium. Interestingly, this included a cover version of Pentagram’s ‘All Your Sins’ - a band from which Cathedral would later draw members. Dorrian’s vocals changed remarkably from his Napalm days to suit a style that drew heavily from early Black Sabbath and late 60s/early 70s underground rock. Forest Of Equilibrium was an impressive debut, with ex-Penance/Dream Death drummer Mike Smail standing in for the departed Mockrie.
