Biography
This US Christian pop/rock band was formed in 1999 by youth pastor Mark Hall (14 September 1970, Montgomery, Alabama, USA; vocals). Formed to support Halls work on the worship circuit in Florida, the original line-up featured Juan DeVevo (b. 24 September 1975, Jacksonville, Florida, USA; guitar/vocals), Hector Cervantes (b. 13 September 1980, Daytona Beach, Florida, USA; guitar/vocals) and Melodee DeVevo (b. 2 July 1976, Daytona Beach, Florida, USA; violin/vocals). It was only following relocation to McDonough, Georgia, that Casting Crowns began to take a more permanent shape. Chris Huffman (b. 12 November 1980, Glasgow, Kentucky, USA; bass), Andy Williams (b. 13 May 1972, Atlanta, Georgia, USA; drums) and Megan Garrett (b. 27 August 1980, Atlanta, Georgia, USA; keyboards/accordion) were added to the line-up, which then completed two independent albums for the local market.
