Biography
This influential grindcore/death metal group from Liverpool, England, was formed in 1987. The band, all vegetarians, comprised Jeff Walker (25 March 1969, England; vocals/bass, ex-Electro Hippies), Bill Steer (b. William Geoffrey Steer, 3 December 1969, Stockton-on-Tees, England; vocals/guitar, ex-Napalm Death) and Ken Owen (b. 23 April 1970, Liverpool, Lancashire, England; drums). The line-up was enlarged with the addition of a second guitarist, Michael Amott (b. 28 July 1970, England; ex-Carnage) on their third album, Necroticism: Descanting The Insalubrious. Their approach was characterized by morbid death-grunts over a barrage of chaotic, bass-dominated music. The lyrical content primarily concerned itself with mutilation, vomiting, putrefaction, intestinal rupturing and steaming entrails - all described in strict medical and anatomical terminology: Intenacious, intersecting/Reaving fats from corporal griskin...
