Biography

23 May 1972, Bethesda, Maryland, USA. McComas was raised mainly in Harrison, Arkansas, where he began writing songs. Encouraged by Paul Overstreet, he continued writing while studying at the University of Arkansas and Southwest Missouri State University. After dropping out of university he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he worked at PolyGram Records, Mercury Records and then Lyric Street Records. Among the songs McComas recorded in the early 00s were ‘Night Disappear With You’, ‘I Could Never Love You Enough’, ‘99.9% Sure (I’ve Never Been Here Before)’ (which reached the Billboard Top 10 in 2003), ‘Sixteen Again’, ‘You’re In My Head’ and ‘Never Meant A Thing’. His second album, Back Up Again, was released via the Katapult label in 2006. During the same year he appeared with Aaron Tippin in a double-headlined Great American Country show staged in Knoxville, Tennessee.
