Biography
12 October 1966, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Having grown up in the notorious Falls Road district of Belfast where he played in his brothers band, singer-songwriter Kennedy relocated to London in 1985. Now hugely popular in his home country and beginning to make a serious impact throughout the rest of Europe, Kennedy originally launched his career in 1990 with a critically acclaimed solo album (The Great War Of Words) that topped the Irish charts. Kennedy then collaborated with ex-Fairground Attraction songwriter Mark Nevin as Sweetmouth, releasing the unsuccessful Goodbye To Songtown. After being released from his contract, Kennedy flew to New Orleans and began travelling around the USA, employing his unusual, somewhat feminine vocals at bar-singing sessions.
