Biography
Brad Schoeppach, 1966, Walla Walla, Washington, USA. After making a reputation in Seattle in his home state as a gifted and innovative guitarist, Shepik moved to New York City where he made a similar impact on the intense avant garde jazz and improvised scene. In the late 90s he was one of the collective trio Babkas (with Briggan Krauss and Aaron Alexander) and also led a quintet, the Commuters (with Peter Epstein, Seido Salifoski, Michael Sarin and Skuli Sverrisson). In 2003 Shepik played and sometimes recorded with his trio, featuring Scott Colley (bass) later Chris Dahlgren, and Tom Rainey (drums), then in 2005 was in Lingua Franca, another collective trio, with Epstein (saxophone) and Matt Kilmer (percussion). His 2007 trio had Gary Versace (Hammond B-3), who had replaced Colley two years earlier, and Rainey.
