Biography

Early pioneers of the UK’s house scene, Bomb The Bass is a collective front for Tim Simenon (Brixton, London, England; of Malay Chinese and Scottish parents). After attending a course in studio engineering he shot to prominence in 1988 with ‘Beat Dis’, which reached the UK Top 5. Both ‘Megablast’ and ‘Say A Little Prayer’ were also UK Top 10 hits, the latter featuring Maureen Walsh, who went on to her own solo career, beginning with a cover version of Sister Sledge’s ‘Thinking Of You’ for Urban. Simenon then worked with Neneh Cherry (producing her hits ‘Buffalo Stance’ and ‘Manchild’). After completing work on his new studio he took up production duties for an album by Prince sidekick Cat.
