Biography
US alternative rock band Blonde Redhead, whose members boast Italian and Japanese heritage, was formed by singer-guitarist Kazu Makino (Japan), Amedeo Pace (b. Milan, Italy; guitar/vocals), and twin brother Simone Pace (b. Milan, Italy; drums). The bands history can be traced back to when the Pace brothers emigrated to Canada at the age of 13 and then attended the Berklee College Of Music in Boston. There they formed a jazz trio with Kazu, previously a collaborator with Marc Ribot. Her voice has often been compared with that of Björk, and it is primarily her distinctive on-record persona that helps distinguish Blonde Redhead from other alternative rock hopefuls.
