Biography

Formed in 2000 in Detroit, Michigan, USA, Blanche revolves around married couple Dan Miller (guitar/vocals) and Tracee Mae Miller (bass/vocals). Dan Miller enjoyed cult notoriety in the 90s owing to his involvement with both explosive cow-punk outfit Goober And The Peas and garage rock band Two Star Tabernacle, the latter of which featured both his wife and a pre- White Stripes’ Jack White. The Millers formed Blanche after the brief career of Two Star Tabernacle imploded at the end of the previous century, with Patch Boyle (banjo/autoharp), Lisa ‘Jaybird’ Jannon (drums) and Dave Feeny (steel guitar) joining them in their new venture. Their debut single, ‘Who’s To Say’, was released by the small Cass imprint in 2003. The track was also covered by the White Stripes and released as a b-side to their version of Burt Bacharach’s ‘I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself’.
