Formed in San Francisco, USA, Blackburn And Snow were one of the city’s first ‘rock’ acts. Jeff Blackburn (guitar, vocals) and Sherri Snow (vocals) were initially joined by Chicken Hirsh (drums), but the group became largely studio-based in 1966 when Hirsh left for the Cleanliness And Godliness Skiffle Band. Within weeks Hirsh resurfaced in Country Joe And The Fish. The following year Blackburn and Snow recorded two singles for Verve Records. ‘Stranger In A Strange Land’ and ‘Time’ bore comparisons with early Jefferson Airplane but when a completed album was shelved, the pair dissolved their partnership. Sherri Snow joined Dan Hicks And His Hot Licks, while Blackburn moved on to Jesse Wolf And Wings. During the 70s he was a member of Moby Grape and the Ducks.
