19 November 1973, Savannah, Georgia, USA. Contemporary country singer-songwriter Currington made a notable impact on the national charts with his second album, 2005s Doin Somethin Right. Raised in Rincon, Georgia, Curringtons early ambitions of pursuing a singing career led him through a number of talent shows while still at high school. He moved to Nashville after completing his education and held down a number of day jobs while attempting to break into the citys music scene through club work. It was while working as a personal trainer that Currington met a contact who helped him acquire demo work. A short-term publishing contract did not pan out as he hoped, but a writing partnership with Mark Wills producer Carson Chamberlain eventually led to a major label contract with Mercury Records.
