Biography
Carol Hedges, 22 December 1945, Woking, Surrey, England. Discovered by entrepreneur Robert Stigwood, this blue-eyed soul singer first came to UK chart prominence in 1962, duetting with Mike Sarne on the novelty Top 20 hit, Will I What The following year, she emerged in her own right with an upbeat rendition of the Exciters Tell Him that reached the Top 10. Although well poised to take advantage of the beat boom, Davis strong voice proved insufficient to take the follow-up, Hes The One, into the Top 30. Her romantic entanglement with former Shadows guitarist Jet Harris gained considerable publicity, especially when both were involved in a car crash in September 1963 (Harris was still married at the time).
