Biography
Frederick Lee Drakeford, New Jersey, USA. Big Bub resumed his solo career in 1997 after spending several years as a successful soul and R&B producer for artists including Mary J. Blige, Boy George, Keith Sweat, BLACKstreet and Bobby Brown. He first built his reputation in the late 80s as a member of Today, a band who, with the help of Teddy Riley, were pivotal in the development of new jack swing (aka swingbeat). His debut solo album followed in 1992, and is best remembered for the inclusion of the single Tellin Me Stories, a song discussing the problems of coping with a drug-addicted girlfriend, at a time when matters of conscience were not uppermost in the minds of most R&B songwriters.
