Biography
This death metal band from Birmingham, West Midlands, England, was formed in the late 80s, and featured singer Dave Ingram, with guitarists Darren Brooke and Peter Rew, and bass player Frank Healy. Original vocalist Barney (Mark Greenway) joined Napalm Death, while drummer Ian Treacy quit in late 1993 (for session work, eventually becoming part of Celestial), to be replaced by Paul Brooks, a veteran of several thrash, punk, indie and even reggae bands. Signed to Germanys Nuclear Blast stable, in the 90s European touring with Atheist established the band throughout the continent, with the possible exception of their native country, a fact frequently bemoaned by the group. A half-live affair, The Grotesque - Ashen Epitaph, also comprised two new studio tracks, along with material recorded on their well-received European tour.
