Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. A self-described freelance bum, Vaughn is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, who has never parlayed his accolades into chart success, despite building a loyal cult following. As a youngster, a defining musical moment for Vaughn occurred at the age of six, when his uncle gave him a record by legendary guitarist Duane Eddy. Subsequently, Vaughn picked up the guitar and eventually began writing his own tunes. 1983 saw the launch of the Ben Vaughn Combo, which resulted in the release of, My First Band, on a small local label the same year. A recording contract with the US label Restless Records soon followed, which resulted in two albums by the Combo, 1986s The Many Moods Of and the following years Beautiful Thing.
