29 November 1951, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The original guitarist with Boston, Goudreau launched his solo career in 1980 following the release of that group’s Don’t Look Back. Much of the impetus behind his self-titled debut collection, which also included contributions from Boston colleagues Brad Delp and Sib Hashian, arose from Goudreau’s frustration with Scholz’s laborious studio methodology. Barry Goudreau reached number 88 in the Billboard album charts, an admirable feat for a debut album but a poor performance given the fact that both Boston’s previous releases had topped the US charts. After its release he chose not to return to Boston but launched Orion The Hunter instead, joined by singer Fran Cosmo and Delp.
